Paul Smith's College Rugby Team to Host Saranac Lake Mountaineers Saturday at 4 PM
The Paul Smith's College Bobcats will be hosting the local Saranac Lake Mountaineers on Saturday, May 3rd in what will be a 10's game. The 4 PM start will allow seniors to finish out their Captstone presentations and then let off some steam in their final game as Paul Smith's College Bobcats.
The Bobcats are coming off a strong effort in their first win ever over the PSC Alumni this past weekend, with a 12 - 5 win. The new players were beginning to learn some of the skills, while the veterans were leading the charge both offensively and defensively for the current Bobcats.
The spring rugby season is a great time for the coaches to expose the young players to the game, and for the returning ruggers to work closely with their teammates as they are preparing for the highly competitive fall season.
The Saranac Lake Mountaineers have been in existence for several decades, and have been playing regionally and internationally throughout that time. The young Bobcats have youth and speed on our side, while the Mountaineers have experience across the pitch.
Please be careful in the parking lot, as we are still dealing with soft spring conditions. It would be great to car-pool or walk to the game if you can. A reminder ~ the soccer field is on college property, and controlled substances are not allowed (open containers). Please help out the PSC Bobcats, as an alcohol violation cna result in sanctions by the rugby association this coming fall semester.
