PSC XC Team Enjoys Solid Performances at Vergennes Day Races
Three First Year Women pace the field in the 5K at the Vergennes Day Races.

Twenty members of the Paul Smith's College XC Team took part in the Vergennes Day Races to continue their preseason campaign. The athletes were able to select from the 5, 10, and 15K race distances in this community-based road race as part of the annual Vergennes Day events on August 26th.
Five Bobcats placed in the top 10 in the 5K for the men, led by a trio of first year students. Eliot Soderholm placed second in 17:23, followed by Ethan Parrish in 18:41, and Tyler Kirschbaum in 19:11. In the 10K, Wes Burkit placed third in 43:13, and Zack Sprott – Scribner placed second in the 15K in 1:08:44.
The top three women in the 5K were all first year students from Paul Smith's College, paced by Lilly Rother in 22:03, Brooklynn Shumway in 24:56, and Joanna Kershner in 26:16. Team captain, Ellen Haas placed second for the women in the 10K in 51:22. The individual results of the PSC runners follow.
