Soderholm Wins 10K Road race in Vergennes, VT
Eliot Soderholm paced the field in the Vergennes Day Races in the 10K distance winning in a time of 34:52.

Paul Smith's College Results: The Paul Smith's College Cross Country Team used the Vergennes Day Races to again give the collegiate runners the opportunity to be timed for the first time this season in a fun citizen race held in Vergennes, Vermont. Eliot Soderholm (JR/Reston, VA) won the men's 10K event in 34:52, While Matthew Matis (FR/Susquehanna, PA) placed second in the men's 5K event in 20:05 to win the 15 – 19 age category.
For the men in the 10K, Bryce Shannon (FR/Sparrow Bush, NY) placed first in the 15 – 18 category with a time of 42:15, followed by AJ Esposito (FR/West Charleston, VT) in 51:12 to place third.
In the 5K, Brock Boissey (FR/Cadyville, NY) placed second in the men's 15 – 18 age category with a time of 21: 24, while Reece Perry (FR/Malone, NY) placed third in 23:38.
PSC Women's Results: Chloe Freund (SO/Clinton, NY) placed second overall for the women in the 5K with a time of 25:45.
Other women running for Paul Smith's College who placed in the medal spots in their events include Madi Kirn (SO/Columbus, OH) placing second in the age 15 – 18 category in the 5K with a time of 28:55. Morgan Cheney (JR/Prattsburgh, NY) placed second in the 19 – 29 age category in 28:49, while Joanna Kerchner (JR/Reading, PA) placed third in the 19 – 29 age category in 29:04.
The XC team will be heading to SUNY Plattsburgh on August 31st to run in the annual Cardinal Classic with all runners competing in the 5K distance. The men's race will start at 11 AM, followed by the women at 11:45. The Cardinal Classic will start and finish near the SUNY Plattsburgh athletic fields, just outside the University Field House.
