Nordic Ski Team Off to the Races at Summer Nationals

Jericho, VT - The Bobcat biathletes started their season by competing in the USA Biathlon Summer National Championships August 5-7 at the Ethan Allen Range in Jericho, VT. The Bobcats had 6 athletes competing over the two-day roller ski event, finishing strongly in various disciplines.
The event serves as a springboard for the biathletes who are looking to be named to the USA team for the World University Games as well as looking to be name to the US Biathlon Junior National Team. The events proved that the Bobcats had done their summer work and are keyed up for a good year.
With absolutely blistering temperatures, the Bobcats blasted through the heat to podium finishes and took home the top spot in one event. In the Pursuit competition Dolcie Tanguay (Fort Kent, ME) took home the championship after just six misses on the four shooting stages and skied to the front of the pack quickly building a large gap on the rest of the field. Teammate Kaisa Bosek (Alexandria, MN) skied strongly to round out the podium with a 3rd place finish. First Year biathlete Saylor Landrum (St. Paul, MN) also took home a podium finish after strong shooting and skiing in her category.
The Bobcat men had several top 15 finishes over the weekend as well, led by Logan Jensen (Bemidji, MN) in the pursuit, finishing 10th.
The Paul Smith's College Nordic team will continue their preparation for World University Games qualifiers with a focus on events starting in November and December.
