Louis Ferrone and Chloe Mattilio Pace 25 Athletes through the 21st Annual Jingle Bell 5K 'Noshoe Race

Louis Ferrone and Chloe Mattilio paced the field in the 5K Jingle Bell "Noshoe Race at the Paul Smith's College Visitor's Interpretive Center. 

Despite our best intentions, this year's Jingle Bell 5K Snowshoe race was once again a late season trail run on the traditional Jingle Bell course at the Visitor's Interpretive Center.  There was between 2 and 3" of snow covering the trails, and the footing was quite good.  We were more concerned about the potential damage which might occur to the crampons on the snowshoes on the bridges, and "floatation" wasn't going to be an issue.

Louis Ferrone (JR) won the event in 19:32, followed by Robert Calamia (SO) in 20:16.  Joe Ritz (SR)placed third in 21:27, followed by Chris Peterson (SR) in 21:35.  Cody Dennis (FR) won the 15 – 19 category and took fifth overall in 21:52, followed by Tyler Dezago (FR) in 21:52.

Chloe Mattilio (SO) won for women in 23:20, followed by Natalie Palko (JR) in 24:25, while Jessica Setter (FR) placed third in 26:38.  Jennifer Maguder (JR) finished in fourth in 27:31, followed by Marilyn Zygo in 27:50 to win the age 50 – 59 category. 

There were a total of 25 athletes who took part in this year's Jingle Bell 5K, including 18 students.
