Bobcat Snowshoe Runners Dominate Garnet Hill Resort's 5K Snowshoe Race
Top Six finishers for the men and three of the top four women finishers were from Paul Smith's College in what is likely the final snowshoe race of the season for the Bobcat Snowshoers.

Seventeen members of the Paul Smith's College Snowshoe Team took part in the 2023 Garnet Hill Lodge 5K Snowshoe Race held on well-groomed packed snow in North River, New York.
The Paul Smith's College runners ran extremely well, with the top six finishers on the men's side all from the college, while three of the top four women all from the college team.
Senior, Zack Sprott – Scribner put together a great performance to conclude the snowshoe season with a time of 21:07 in the 5K event, followed by Noah Kuc in 21:33, and senior, Alex Cameron in 22:44. Sam Finger placed fourth in 23:21, followed by Carson Wohlers in 23:39 and Logan Krahn in 23:57.
Paul Smith's College women were led by Wes Burkit winning the 5K in 25:27, while teammate Ellen Haas placed second in 26:12. Amy McLean from Queensbury, NY placed third in 26:49 to earn a spot on the podium, while Paul Smith's College runner, Madison Reardon placed fourth in 28:10 for the women.
A total of 26 athletes took part in the Garnet Hill Lodge 5K. The local area received over a foot of heavy wet snow earlier in the weekend, but the trail crew did a fantastic job of preparing the trails for the Nordic skiers and the snowshoe athletes alike.
This was the final snowshoe race of the abbreviated season. Many of these athletes will be training indoors as they revert to soccer, while the cross country runners will focus on increasing their mileage as they prepare for the St. Lawrence Marathon and Half Marathon in Cornwall, Ontario at the end of April.
