Trap Team Qualifies for USACCTL Nationals
Bunker Hill, IL ~ The Paul Smith's College Trap Shooting team is off to Illinois for the weekend as they compete in the United States College Clay Target League (USACCTL) National Championships.
The Bobcats will have five competitors take part in the three-day event: Jacob Fontaine (East Aurora, NY), Tristian Olsen (Forestville, NY), Austin Polaske (Wallingford, CT), Luke McReynolds (North Danville, VT), and Wyatt Rheinhardt (Bow, NH).
Fontaine, Olsen, Polaske, McReynolds, and Russell Diers (Kingston, NY) were the top-5 shooters for the Bobcats on the range this season, finishing in seventh, 10th, 20th, 31st, and 37th places out of 147 conferences competitors, respectively.
Fontaine has been a deadeye, hitting 50 of 50 targets in competition twice this season out of ten competition days, and adding one 25-straight. Olsen was right there with him, hitting 50 for 50 and 25 for 25 once each. Garrett Knisley (Painesville, OH), Diers, McReynolds, and Polaske all added one 25 for 25 shoot during competition.
The tournament will start on Friday, November 1st at the Brittney Shooting Park in Bunker Hill, IL and conclude on Sunday, November 3rd (weather permitting). You can follow along and get information for the tournament here.
