Regular season champions, Paul Smith's College was led by All Conference players Alli Cherry and Jordan Louis in the conference championship matches held at NHTI as they won the final four with a 3 - 1 set win over NHTI.
The Bobcats swept #4 seed, Southern Maine CC 3 - 0 to advance to the finals, but this wasn't entirely a cakewalk. Although Paul Smith's won the first set 25 - 19 and then 25 17 in the second set, the Seawolves battled tough in the third set, jumping out to a sizeable lead. The Bobcats battled back and eventually won 27 - 25 for the win.
Paul Smith's had some time to recover after the SMCC win, while Great Bay battled NHTI the full five sets, losing a close one. Paul Smith's was able to jump out to a 25 - 13 win in the first set, and looked like this would be a fine sweep for the Bobcats. The Lynx battled tough in the second set and dominated to a 25 - 13 win to even the score at 1 all.
In the third set, it was nearly a repeat of the first set, with the Bobcats jumping out to a fast lead and then never letting the NHTI Lynx get any momentum. The Bobcats pulled away with a 25 - 10 win and looked poised to run away with the title. The Lynx had other plans, and really battled tough in the fourth set. Although PSC won the fourth and deciding set 25 - 18, NHTI played tough to the end.
Alli Cherry was named the YSCC Tournament MVP while Jordan Louis was named Offensive Player of the Tournament. Jessica Allen of NHTI was named the Defensive Player of the Tournament as she was a standout for the tournament runner ups. Avrielle Fletcher of Paul Smith's continued to truly set up her teammates with great opportunities to really pound down some great shots in both matches.
